Honestly speaking, I was pretty psych when I found out that I was rostered for Cairns in June and nope, I didn't even request for that and even better, I went with my batchgirl, Terie! Then, I got to know that my set of crew are so happening, we even created a group chat for the trip! From the time roster was released, up till the night we're about to fly off, we kept on updating each other what activities we should do together!
Tell me what not to love flying with them!? Awesome shit.
I was pretty bumped out the fact that Bubs couldn't send me off because he was stucked in Hongkong due to aircraft problem, literally dragged my feet to work until I met my awesome colleagues!
So fast-forward when we landed in Cairns, we were brought over to our hotel. Everyone was super max-ed out, including me. I was even fasting on that day, makes me even more "lifeless".
Initial plan was to meet up after 3hours of sleep but upon checking into our hotel, batchy and I wandered around the nearest Woolsworth because yours truly forgot to bring her facial wash and decided to buy instead.
We head back to our room and knocked out. Met up with the rest with just an hour-2 of sleep to go for shopping!
We wandered around Cairns Central and spent most of our time in Coles! I love grocery shopping!!! So aunty but i dunch careee, I can buy the whole supermarket if I have to!
Dearest colleagues of mine so sweet to break fast together with me, having dinner! We had Japanese!
WHAT A SPREAD!
We walked around some more right after that then head back to the hotel. Dijah was super tired she concussed right after while batchy wanted to go for a swim. Jio-ed Ariel as well!
About an hour later, we head back to our respective rooms. The night was still young for Ariel and Terie, they went clubbing right after we deposit our laundry! I kinda called it a night only after batchy came bck from clubbing, couldn't sleep. How the hell I managed a 2 hrs of sleep!?!
DAY 2
Started the day early at 7 to grab breakfast before an adrenaline-rushed activity!
At 7.45am, we made our way to Tandem Skydive Office across the street. Oh hell yeah, S K Y D I V E!
Call us crazy but anything to strike off my to-do-before-married list!
At this point of time, I knew my heart raced like mad. Was I even thinking straight? The gloomy weather in the morning doesn't even help, with light showers. Damn son, this shit is for real!
So we were brought into a house then suddenly someone called out my name, I raised my hand,turned and looked. The rest was like My oh my. My colleagues kept on emphasizing my instructor was good-looking and please, I'm not even oogling. I swear! Just stunned, that's all.Like what's going to happen next.
Everyone was introduced to their instructors and the next thing we know we were already guided our way through all the harnesses and gears.
I was so focused in keeping myself calm and collected. The instructors there were very nice and outgoing and oh, my instructor was Dan!
So he pulled me to the corner to record snippets and video from a GoPro, interviewing me and such. The next thing I knew, a mini plane landed on the patch of grass! Fucking nervous!!!
We boarded the plane with our instructors behind us. The sequence was Terie, Dijah, Me, Yen, Neil and Ariel. I didn't even enjoy the scenic view from above cos' I was so nervous, honestly don't even know what to expect!
Dan was video recording me throughout, the other instructors there kept on playing around with our harnesses, trying to terrify us a little. I was being disturbed the most from all angles. The LED colored lights made me more scared! There was green, amber and red. All I know one of them was "Open doors and Jump!"

Sorry for the vulgarities but really, you'd understand how I'd be feeling when it was amber!
Next thing I knew, I was clipped to Dan and had my goggles on. THE SHIT IS GETTING REAL!
Suddenly the light goes Green and doors were opened, they went "GO! GO! Go!"
Seeing the others drop themselves righy before my eyes got me saying " This is really do or die" said my prayers in my heart and we were thrown out of the plane.
YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW HARD I SCREAMT! If you ever took a rollercoaster, that's like times 10 of the adrenaline rush; the sudden dip, the 360 degree turn, like massive turbulence with seatbelts off and whatever whatnot.
This was where he gave me a tap and I soared(okay lah more like falling for my life!) like a free bird.
Who said being in the clouds are amazing!? I HATE IT. I was like "Come on, get over this phase!" My throat was so dry from all the shouting and clouds/forced air in my mouth, it was so hard to breathe, my nose were flared from air rushing through(U N G L A M) and completely confused with multiple senses that I was facing! I was literally free-falling for about 60s(but it seems like 5minutes!)
When the parachute was finally up, we glided through the clouds and the magnificent view surfaced! Magical.
It was definitely a spectacular view!
I would love to post my pictures and video here but it's on the other phone. Bummer.
Dan twirled and twirled around until when it's time to land, he told me to raise up my thigh and feet while he does the landing.
I cannot express how great the experience was! As I look up at the skies, I see other cute "balloons" twirling around! It started to shower again so we head for shelter.
Ariel and Neil landed and they shared their "painful" experience. They had a stinging sensation from the heavy drop of rain above.Ariel didn't even noticed her windbreaker was torn on the arm area until one of the instructors pointed and said "That must have been very painful!"
Considered us three quite lucky not going through that "IPL" moment!!!
We came to the skydive ground with two batch of people, once our batch was done, it was their turn!
We kinda lazed around waiting for everyone to finish before we boarded the bus back to the office!
Fast-forward, in the bus. Our batch was distrubuted our USB with our video and photos inside! That was quick, I thought we'd be receiving it like a day after or something like that. We even got our certs!
MISSION #YOLO ACCOMPLISHED!
Everyone dozed in the bus, we made a quick stop at the Petrol station before continuing the hour drive to the central.
Alighted, laidback at the office and watched our videos. SUPER FUNNY, seeing everyone's reaction including mine! We went back to the hotel rightafter.
Completely dozed off right after shower. Was late in meeting the rest for dinner!
We went to have dinner at Grill'd! Had a beef burger and hell yeah the portion is like 2-person servings!
We wandered around while Captain head back to the hotel. I got my churros(BEST CHURROS EVAAA) and bubble tea at the night market! Further shopping there and taking in the cool breeze at night, strolling by the beach.
Bumped into the rest of the crew and Jean! Made our way to the hotel once we were done. Called it a night right after chilling with my girls at the lobby. Everyone had their rest and we're so not ready to go home just yet.

I can't wait for probably another skydive trip and bungy jumping in December, hopefully.
Oh! I found one good locket worth passing down my generation! I just needed to keep a photo of me and bubs at the back. So preeeedy, I love pretty vintage-y stuffs!
In remembrance of mummy, grandmummy, great-grandmummy's first layover in her flying career!
And yeah, a satisfying check-in bag worth of snacks and nibbles to bring back in SG!
Okay dah, satisfied.
