The next 5 years.
So, the common question asked; "Where do you see yourself in the next 5 /10/30 years?"
Here's an unrealistic view of the life I've always dreamt about.
1) Get married to the love of my life
2) Leave my current job, pursue full-time degree in Nutrition and Dietetics in UK or USA for 4 years. Live life abroad for the time-being.
3) Be a registered dietitian and work overseas for 2-4 years.
4) Come back to Singapore, get a stable full-time job in the same field.
5) Have a house to call our own then comes the baby-planning. First kid before the age of 32, last kid by 35.
6) Travel at least 3-4 destinations in a year.
7) Acquire as many skills and certifications such as Bridal Make-up, Photography and Hairstyling/Sewing/Business Management/Baking.
8) Have a side-line for income other than the full-time career.
9) Save sufficient for our early retirement. The "Free and Easy" life afterwards; It's all about travelling, investing and insuring.
10) Open up a mini-business, let the income roll till we retire.
Unfortunately, I'm not a rich kid neither are my parents rich. I strive to be sufficiently independent in all aspects especially with finances but sometimes it's just not possible especially when you're starting from scratch. Even owning a HDB flat in Singapore requires you to loan, there's no-running away from it unless you earn a million dollars every month, now that's a different story.
So, here's how I foresee my next realistic 5-years:
1) Be married to the love of my life, Ahmad Hilmy Bin Abdul Jalil (lol)
2) Stick my ass in stewarding for the next 2 years till gratuity.
3) Save like mad for the next 4 years before completion of house.
4) Upon completion of 5 years in Silkair, have thoughts on baby-planning.
5) Have my first child by 2018.
6) Have sufficient money to pay-off whatever house-related(e.g Renovation works)
7) Move in by 2019/2020.
8) Will still be arguing with Bubs on the jobs I might have interest in, drop the whole idea of pursuing my degree.
9) Still figuring out what to do with life
10) and still figuring out to do with life...... so on and so forth.
Technically, that's how life is going to be like no matter how much I try to deny.
Yes, I've always been looking forward to great opportunity. Bubs always remind me to be thankful of my decent life, which I am though. We've just got to suck thumb for a little while.
I'm seeing a tough 5 years ahead of us.
As of now, 6 months into the wedding, we've already set a goal to what we're going to achieve(InShaaAllah).
I can't believe I've already draft out our financial planning and expenditure, just left with a set of clause we need to agree to in the future, as a married couple.
Dah macam pre-nup gitu?
Then again, the saying still remains as "Kita yang merancang, Dia yang menentukan."
InshaaAllah.
xoxo.
