The Eternal City, Rome. Part I

Okay fine, since I freaking can't get myself to sleep(it's like 1.37am right now, gotta wake up at 5. Mati aku!), shall justt do a quick update on my Roma journey.

29th June 2014

As the quick one-night stop in Firenze ended, we checked out quite early(8.45am?) from our hotel to catch another train ride. Yes, the final destination, Rome. Atlantic Palace Hotel was well-situated near the Santa Maria Novella Termini, which makes it easier for us by foot, saving alot on means of transport.

Reached the termini early and of course, lepak like we do best while waiting for the train.

Alalalahai tayang.

I look slightly nothing like me, probably tak shade kening ahh and eyeliner was quite thin that day. ok lol, info tak perlu.

Was telling bibs that we will be taking business class cabin and hell yeah, we did. Seat was so comfy, I slept throughout the journey laaaa!!

Journey took about 1.5hrs only and there, we arrived in Roma termini!
I love it how I'm always dependable(most of the time, claimed by him) on him on like everything. He's literally my life GPS, always researching the very last minute(unlike me, I slalu research early but hor, dah nak dekat date, semua lupa. How now? That's why we complement each other. lol) cos' i tend to doze off earlier before him!

Got on the metro B towards Baberrini. Each train ticket cost you €1.50, so any stops you make still the same price so long its within the 100mins. Annoying right? Our station is like only 2 stops away from the termini and we made so many train rides. *sigh

So my Mr GPS always reading the map, while I was his eyes, looking for the street name and within minutes, we found our accomodation, Residenza Ki!

Checked in and boy, our front of house is from Brazil. Biasalah kan, lelaki bual pasal World Cup.

Once done, we settled in for awhile and waited for the sun to settle down a little before going out(Weird how it's chilly but the heat cos just automatically burn you!)

About an hour or so, we finally made our move out to explore this Eternal city.
Walked back to the station and we bought the 24hr pass(wrong move cos' we only took the train like.. twice!)

First stop, the Colosseo(Colosseum).
Our front of house was telling us to be very careful in Rome cos' pick-pocketing are very common these days. Of course, we just listened but little did we know, we could be witnessing it first-hand.

A PICKPOCKET IN ACTION.
There were these two young ladies, there were rushing in a way, that's what got my attention for thr first time. One of them took the stairs the other just take the escalator, already weird right?

Bibs was behind me and she brushed off him, making a quick touch on his pocket(berani kau pengang laki aku eh suaar) which got his attention at first but of course, we are slightly a step ahead of her, put all our $$ in the bag which he holds it tightly on him. Obviously the emptiness in his pockets, she stood a step ahead of me beside this Asian Chinese man( he's wearing cargo pants with lots of pockets)

At first, we just thought they're a couple until our eyes widened when she had a sling bag covering her arms and hands, then she reached out, meddling with the pockets. Bibs just had to tell me infront of her in malay like "Eh sialah!" I was like facing him and like giving the "Shush laa! She's just infront of me sia" look.

Well of course, she turned her back and noticed that we saw her actions and the chinese man already aware of her presence, she made an escape, climbing the steps of the escalator!

Definitely stunned and more wary from then on. What an experience!

.....

So back to the journey, we went to Colosseo and took loads of #selfies and also for the #projectahprewedshoot.
Pictures were awesome, great lighting but then things happened over which got us to the next destination, The Vatican City.

We bought tickets at €12 each. So worth it, cos the man was selling it to us outside while we realised the the queue was so *** long inside!

kawaii nehzzxx!

Head back to the metro for The vatican city next. It was quite a long stretch of walkway to the vaticans but quite worthwhile seeing the huge square with all italianos/tourists lepak-ing. We didn't get a ticket into the museum cos' we're already pancit due to fasting. 17hours, yes. Gosh!

Did alot of ridiculous videos over here and not long enough, we went off, back to the hotel likka lembek benyek burnt potatoes.

Slacked in the hotel for a good 2-3hours whilst waiting for time to pass by. Watched the Bridesmaid together till it was 8.45pm, we made a move to the Halal kebab restaurant and got pizzas and kebab takeouts for buka! Coke light indeed save my day. Ironically, pizza suddenly taste good when you're fasting!

Broke our fast and we went out on a quick-date for Gelato. Bestest thing ever. For someone like bibs who doesnt prefer anything sweet and to get him to eat Gelato thrice in this whole trip? MIRACLE. That's how good Gelato is, I swear. That explains my few hundred grams weightgain from this trip. HAHAHHA, okay paranoid.

**okay, sidetrack. Did i mentioned that im not much of a water-drinker cos i hate plain water in singapore at room temperature? This, shockingly swept my tongue out. I could drink this all-day errday, at any temp! Heard it's from the mountains or whatsoever. Import this please!?

okay back, so where was I? Ahh yes. we had Gelato and got my heart tremendously broken and mind-wrecked seeing the Fontane di Trevi on reconstruction!!!!! Grr. That was supposed to be the highlight of this Rome trip. Angry bird is angry.

Baru nak campak coin dalam and make wish. At that moment macam nak campak H Je kat dalam.

All the coins were gone and no water of course. Le sigh. Alot of these monuments and structures here are under renovation. Why naaooooow!?!?

Oh well. So we head back to the hotel.
Stay tuned for part II which is probably the next highlight of the trip. I'll reveal the #projectahprewedshoot someday, prolly snippets and will definitely tell you what it's all about.

Till then! Au Revoir. (dah tukar french la pulakk)
